Lakes Entrance

Lakes Entrance is a thriving coastal town in the East Gippsland region of Victoria. Home to more than 9,000 people, Lakes Entrance is well known for its beautiful lakes, pristine beaches and perfect weather year-round. Tourism to the region has always been a big deal, going as far back as the 1940s. In recent decades, the town became known as a destination for retirees, however the demographics are rapidly evolving as young professionals working from home and families flock to the area for its unparallelled lifestyle options.

Some huge developments are underway. Millions of dollars were spent gentrifying the esplanade during the lockdowns of 2020-2021, and new projects include the Slipway Redevelopment, $9 million Bullock Island Redevelopment and $120 million Metung Hot Springs project which will eventually include a very large marina to allow for regular 20-minute ferry services from Lakes Entrance daily.

This web site is under construction but if you are visiting Lakes Entrance the best coffee in town is Salty Groms. For swimming you can't beat Lake Tyers Beach. The General at Lake Tyers does outstanding food and coffee and the Waterwheel Beach Tavern is a great place to spend time with friends and family.
